Privacy Policy
Effective November 2, 2026. myVillage is operated by Pamela Bitton, Risa Gordon, and Omer Keinan, doing business together as myVillage, New Jersey, USA ("we"). Contact: support@myvillageparents.app.
1. Who this app is for
myVillage is for parents and guardians aged 18 or over. Children do not use it and cannot create accounts. Parents add information about their children. We don't knowingly collect information directly from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
2. What we collect
- Account: your name, email, and profile photo from Google or Apple sign-in, plus anything you add to your profile (such as which communities you belong to and your privacy settings).
- Your family's information: your kids' names, photos, notes, and the apps and links you save for each kid, and family membership.
- Community content: posts, replies, Bulletin listings (and their photos), group and chat messages, voice messages, and connection requests.
- Device and usage data: analytics events (screens viewed, buttons tapped), crash reports, and push notification tokens. Analytics events are linked to your account ID.
- Permissions: the camera, photo library, and microphone are used only when you take or pick a photo or record a voice message.
3. How we use it
To run the app (show your inbox, deliver messages and notifications, connect you with other parents), keep it secure and prevent abuse, fix bugs, and understand how the app is used so we can improve it. We don't sell your personal information. We may invite local businesses and community members to join with a business account and post advertisements to their community. Those are posts that members of the community see, not targeted advertising. We don't give advertisers your personal information, and we don't use your or your children's information to target ads.
4. What other parents can see
- Members of a community can see your name and profile photo and can message you through the app.
- Other parents can search for you by your child's name, depending on your "kid name visibility" setting. Your children's photos, notes, and school messages are visible only to members of your family.
- Posts, replies, and Bulletin listings are visible to the members of the community or group they're posted in.
- Members of a shared family can see everything in that family.
5. Who we share data with
We use these providers to run myVillage. They process data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Storage, Cloud Functions, Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging): hosting, sign-in, photos, crash and usage data, push notifications.
- Google and Apple sign-in: to log you in.
- Stream: powers parent-to-parent chat and voice messages.
- Legal: we may disclose data if the law requires it or to protect someone's safety.
We don't share your data with anyone else.
6. Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while your account is active. To delete your account and data, email support@myvillageparents.app from the address on your account. We'll confirm it's you and complete the deletion within 30 days. Deleting your account removes your profile, your posts, replies, and listings, your connections, your Bulletin listings and photos, and your chat user. If you're the only member of a family, the family's kids, notes, inbox, and photos are deleted too. If the family has other members, you're removed from it and they keep the family's data.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (Firebase's default encryption), and access is controlled with Firebase security rules and App Check. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
You can view and edit your information in the app, and ask us to give you a copy or delete it, by emailing support@myvillageparents.app. We'll respond within 30 days. myVillage is intended for users in the United States. Data is processed in the United States and wherever our providers operate.
9. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. Using the app after that means you accept the change.
