Terms of Service
Effective November 2, 2026. These Terms are between you and Pamela Bitton, Risa Gordon, and Omer Keinan, doing business together as myVillage ("we").
Please read section 16. It requires disputes to go to individual arbitration instead of court, and you give up the right to a jury trial and to class actions. You can opt out within 30 days.
1. Agreement
By signing in you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use myVillage.
2. Eligibility and account
You must be 18 or over. Keep your sign-in secure, give accurate information, and don't share your account. You're responsible for what happens under it.
3. Beta
myVillage is a beta. It may be incomplete, unavailable, or changed or discontinued at any time, and data may be lost. You use it voluntarily and can stop at any time.
4. Licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own non-commercial family use.
5. Your content
You own what you post. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, and display it as needed to run the service (including showing it to the people you've chosen to share it with). You promise you have the right to post it, including photos of other people and their children.
6. Acceptable use
Don't post anything unlawful, harassing, hateful, sexual, or misleading, or that infringes someone's rights. Don't post other people's children's photos or details without their parent's permission. Don't spam, scrape, or try to break the app. Don't advertise or promote a business, product, or service in myVillage unless we've invited you to join with a business account. Business accounts are subject to the rules we give them when we invite them, in addition to these Terms. Unauthorized commercial content may be removed and the account suspended. We may remove content and suspend or remove accounts that break these rules.
Reporting abuse. If you see anything that breaks these rules, or any abuse, harassment, unsafe behavior, or content involving a child's safety, tell us. You can report a Bulletin listing in the app. For anything else (including messages, posts, and users), email support@myvillageparents.app with what happened and, if you can, screenshots and the name of the user. We'll review reports within 24 hours and remove content that breaks these rules. We may also warn, restrict, or remove the account responsible. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911 first.
7. Other parents and meeting in person
myVillage connects you with other parents. We don't verify who they are and aren't responsible for what they say or do. Take normal care before sharing details about your children or meeting someone. Bulletin listings, carpools, and playdates are arrangements between users, not us. Businesses that advertise in myVillage are independent. We don't endorse them or their products and services, and any deal is between you and them. We aren't a party to them and aren't responsible for them or for anyone's safety.
8. Third-party services
Sign-in, hosting, and chat are provided by third parties, whose terms also apply.
9. Beta confidentiality
myVillage is unreleased. While you're in the beta:
- Confidential information means non-public information about myVillage that you learn through the beta: unreleased features, designs, screens, plans, and how it works. It does not include your own content, information that is or becomes public through no fault of yours, information you already knew or learned independently, or what the law requires you to disclose.
- Keep it confidential. Use it only to test myVillage and give us feedback. Don't post screenshots, recordings, or descriptions publicly (social media, forums, press) or share them with anyone building a competing product. You may tell your own family what you're using it for.
- This applies for the beta and for 2 years after you stop using the app, or until we release the feature publicly, whichever comes first.
10. Ownership and feedback
We own myVillage, including its software, design, name, logo, and content we create. These Terms give you no rights in them beyond the licence in section 4. Don't copy, modify, reverse engineer, or decompile the app, or try to extract its source code, except where the law allows. If you give us feedback or ideas, you let us use them freely, without payment or credit to you, and you keep ownership of your own content (section 5).
11. No warranty
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT IT WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AREN'T LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR USE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO WHAT YOU PAID US IN THE PRIOR 12 MONTHS (OR US$100 IF YOU PAID NOTHING). NOTHING HERE LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CAN'T BE LIMITED BY LAW.
13. Termination
You can stop using myVillage and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if the law requires, or if we end the service. We'll give notice where practical.
14. Apple
If you downloaded the app from the App Store, these Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance and isn't responsible for claims about the app, and Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and can enforce them against you.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and by the Federal Arbitration Act for section 16.
16. Disputes: arbitration instead of court
- Talk first. Email support@myvillageparents.app and give us 30 days to try to resolve the dispute informally.
- Arbitration. If we can't, any dispute between you and us about myVillage or these Terms will be resolved by binding arbitration run by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, instead of in a court. You and we each give up the right to sue in court and to a jury trial. The arbitrator's decision can be enforced in court. Hearings can be held by phone or video, or in Morris County, New Jersey.
- No class actions. Disputes are brought individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in a class or group action.
- What stays in court. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small-claims court. We may also go to court to stop misuse of our intellectual property or a breach of section 9 (confidentiality).
- Opt out. You can opt out of arbitration by emailing support@myvillageparents.app within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Say you're opting out.
- Any court proceeding allowed above will be in the state or federal courts in Morris County, New Jersey.
17. Changes
We'll tell you in the app before material changes take effect. Using the app afterwards means you accept them.
